The cutting of semi-finished products with the blades of the Skrama 240 produces a relatively large amount of waste material. This can of course be reused, for example for these great little knives.

This knife has been influenced by Japanese kiridashi knives, which are used for all sorts of handwork. The upper end of the spine has been ground to a 90 degree angle so it can be used to start a fire with flint, making the knife quite versatile in the wilderness. The rest of the spine is rounded so you can rest your thumb on it while you work.

The knife comes with a black leather sheath that has a hole at the tip that you can use to hang the knife from your neck or a hook on the wall. The snap closure ensures that the knife does not fall out on its own. There is also a hole at the end of the bare blade for hanging.

Use

This cute little knife has many uses, such as engraving, carving, peeling fruit, cleaning mushrooms, etc. The blade is only slightly shorter than 50mm, which may or may not make a difference in your neck of the woods. When out in the wilderness, the neck knife feature allows you to easily carry it with you everywhere.

Carbon Steel 80CRV2

The knife is made of 80CrV2 material. The thing is, it's nothing special, just a very good tool steel that can withstand impact and hold a blade well. 80CrV2 steel has earned a reputation over the decades for being strong and reliable, especially for our purposes.

Solid leather sheath

The leather for the sheath comes from Pelo Leather, a family-owned Finnish tannery founded in 1897. In addition to producing premium quality Nappa leather and leather with minimal material waste and emissions, it is respectful of the source of its raw materials: the animals and the nature in which they live.
The cowhides they use come from local abattoirs that have standards that ensure animal welfare. No animals are raised for the purpose of producing these hides.
A great deal of effort is put into the processes and logistics of the business to ensure a cleaner environment for future generations. We take our hats off to them and are proud to have cases made from their skins!
