Hobo Stove™ – practical accessory for your 'Trekker' Kettle
Transform the fire-base of your 'Trekker' Kettle into a highly efficient wood-fired camping stove with the Hobo Stove™.
Main Benefits:
- Safe, easy, and fun: Provides a stable cooking surface for pots or pans, with the fire safely contained inside.
- Fuel-efficient: Heat is directed effectively toward the pot or pan.
- Works in all weather conditions.
- Uses any solid fuel.
- Compact and durable: After use, the Hobo Stove packs neatly back into the Kettle fire-base.
Directions for Use:
- Place the Hobo Stove on the Kettle fire-base so the wide rim rests on the base.
- Face the circular holes of the fire-base into the wind and the large “feeder” hole on the side of the Hobo Stove away from the wind.
- Add fuel as needed via the top opening, side “feeder” hole of the Hobo Stove, or through the holes in the fire-base.
- Place any size pot or pan on the Hobo Stove and cook!
Tip: Allow the stove to cool completely before packing. Simply flip the Hobo Stove over and it fits neatly back into the fire-base.
Safety Recommendations:
- The fire-base becomes very hot and may scorch the ground. Whenever possible, leave no trace – set up the stove on a non-combustible surface (sand, gravel, large stone) or use our simple support under the fire-base to protect the ground.
- In an emergency, the Hobo Stove can be used without the fire-base – simply place it on the ground and build the fire inside.
- We recommend using the Hobo Stove with stainless steel fire-bases, as aluminium may warp or melt under intense heat.
Compact Packing:
Many of our accessories stack together, saving space:
350 ml cup → inside the 'Trekker' cook set → inside Hobo Stove → inside the fire-base → inverted into the bottom of the kettle
Note: The larger 500 ml cup will not fit inside the cook pot.
Fuel is free!
Never buy or carry fuel again. Simply gather dry twigs, branches, grass, pine cones, or other natural fuel in the area and cook your meal anytime.
