* straight back - single-section blade with curved blade and straight back. This blade is more commonly found in the kitchen than in outdoor knives, but even here this blade is not entirely unique. A knife with such a blade is heavy and strong in proportion to its size. It is suitable for chopping and slicing. The blunt back allows the user to guide the knife well and concentrate the force, while the rounded blade cuts well.
