The blade is induction hardened, it is uncoated - this is the traditional way of finishing Finnish knives. The flat side of the blade is left black after hardening, while the ground part is polished. It is important to note that an uncoated blade is prone to corrosion. Therefore, ensure proper care of the knife by keeping it dry and applying oil to the blade regularly. Care and maintenance instructions for the knife are included with the package.
The TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) handle is quite rubbery to the touch. The material is virtually indestructible, resisting wear, impact, chemicals and changes in weather and temperature. In addition, it has excellent recyclable properties. Special attention has been paid to design and texture. It retains grip even in wet hands and holds up in all conditions.
The Ranger Cub's kydex sheath features paracord for comfortable knife carry around the neck. Another carrying option is horizontal belt carry. The sheath can be easily and securely attached to a belt with the Pull-the-DOT® carabiner. Kydex offers great durability as it is impact and weather resistant, resists moisture, chemicals and temperature fluctuations.
