History:

The slingshot has a long history with extensive uses that date back to prehistoric times. It has always been a very inexpensive and effective weapon that can be created by one's own efforts. The slingshot works on the principle of centrifugal force created by a flexible part. Slingshots since ancient times were more like ropes that had a pocket in the middle. The slingshots assembled in this way had a range of up to 300 metres with a speed of up to 200 km/h for experienced shooters. From the Middle Ages, slingshots began to be displaced by crossbows and bows, which excelled in range, accuracy and effect.

Basic safety guidelines for handling a slingshot:

  1. Safe place to shoot:
Use slingshot only in a safe place: Always shoot slingshot in a place where there is no risk of injury to people, animals or damage to property. Make sure you have enough clearance and that there is nothing nearby that could be inadvertently hit.
Choose a suitable target area: If you are shooting at targets, make sure they are stable and safe. You should always be clear where you are aiming and avoid shooting towards people or animals.

  2. Avoiding unintentional hits:
Never shoot at people or animals: Never use a slingshot to target living things. Hitting them can cause injury.
Use slingshots only on solid and safe targets: If you are shooting at objects designed for this purpose, make sure they are strong enough to withstand a hit without breaking or destroying them.

  3. Slinger handling precautions:
Hold the slinger correctly: When using the slinger, grip the handle firmly but with controlled force. Make sure you have good control of the slingshot and that you are not endangering yourself or others.
Don't leave the slingshot taut unnecessarily: Leaving the slingshot taut for long periods of time can cause loss of control or even damage to the rubber. Always tension it just before firing.
Do not use the slingshot near the face: Make sure that when using the slingshot you do not point the rubber towards the face or other parts of the body that could be hit.

  4. Appropriate slingshot projectiles:
Use the correct projectiles: Make sure you use projectiles that are designed for use with slingshots, such as steel balls or specialty projectiles. Do not use objects that may damage the slingshot or be dangerous when fired.
Avoid unusual materials: Do not use sharp or hard objects that may cause damage to the slingshot or pose a hazard when fired.

  5. Eye and face protection:
Wear eye protection: It is recommended to wear goggles or eye protection when shooting with a slingshot. Projectiles can fly in unpredictable directions and cause eye injuries.
Face protection: If possible, use a face shield or other face protection, especially if you are shooting at harder targets that can deflect projectiles.

  6. Handling and storage safety:
Store slingshot out of reach of children: Slingshot should always be stored in a safe place, out of reach of children. Although it is a fun toy, it can be dangerous if handled in an unskilled manner.
Check the condition of the slingshot: Before each use, check that the slingshot is in good condition. Check that the rubber is not damaged, that all parts are firmly connected and that the slingshot is not otherwise damaged (broken, cracked).

  7. Never conduct dangerous experiments:
Never combine slingshots with explosives or other dangerous substances: Never attempt to upgrade slingshots or combine projectiles with dangerous materials (e.g., explosives, flammables, or chemicals). This can be extremely dangerous.

  8. Appropriate slingshot use:
Shoot at targets that are designed for slingshot shooting: Slingshots are intended for use on harmless targets such as targets, cans, or other similar objects. Do not use a slingshot for tasks that are not appropriate for it.
Think about the purpose of shooting: Use the slingshot for its intended activities, such as recreation or target practice, and avoid dangerous uses such as vandalism or aggressive behavior.

  9. Care in case of injury:
Immediate help if injured: If injured, give first aid immediately. If the injury is serious, seek medical attention.

The knife handle is intended for use by persons 18 years of age or older and is not intended for use by children.
